Mar 25, 2008 FIRST EQUITY BUSINESS CARD complaint by Bill colvin |
We own a small company and have been a customer of this company for a year and a half. During the last five days, we have been inundated with collection center calls.
I returned the first call to see what was going on with the account and they advised they were calling on a small outstanding balance which had now accrued a late fee. They advised they had not received the March 2008 payment.
I advised them I went through our check register and show that we never received a billing. The response was that we were late; needed to make an electronic payment; and catch up on the amount.
I advised the customer service rep we pay off our account on a monthly basis and if I had received a statement, it would have been paid as it has always been in the past: in full.
Eventually I spoke to a supervisor. After explaining the situation, he resonded " we are not responsible for the US postal system". My response: neither am I.
Over the last two days, we have recieved numerous calls from various people at the collection center advising of the late fee. Our reponse is as always. Send a new statement; we will pay it in full; and close our account with this bank due to extremely poor customer service. This was to be noted to cease further calls on our home lines and business lines.
Believe it or not, having explained this to 5 service reps and speaking to two supervisors, the calls are still coming in. I finally contacted customer service and was told they would take us off the "dialer". Any odds on when I receive the next call.
This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I know paying your entire balance monthly is not what credit card companies want, but how many times do you have to repeat the same information: once I get your final bill; you will be paid in full; I will cancel this ....account.
If you are in a similar situation, I urge you to contact anyone in power, eg: attorney general's office and advise of the practices of this company.
The incessant calls now border on harassment.
